I have been in the IT industry since 1975. I have mostly on-the-job and self-education training, although I have been through quite a few one-day courses and done a heap of learning along the way.
While I was an MYOB Certified Consultant, I had to take re-certification exams each year, plus other required development activities.
I'm a Registered BAS Agent which requires educational and work-related minimum standards.
I'm always learning and always keeping up with the latest. Several industry ezines come across my desk each week and I do spend time developing my talents. I'm active on industry forums as well.
Sinde 1999, I run Apple Macs, which all have the ability to switch to Windows - the best of both worlds. When I'm away from my office, my trusty iPad and iPhone keeps me in touch.
I've been designing websites since the dawn of the website era. I've used many different systems, but have settled on Joomla, Wordpress and a few different shopping carts, depending on the purpose.
I don't usually work at your site for bookkeeping and definitely not for anything else. Why? Because I prefer to work from state-of-the-art, my fully equipped, air-conditioned (or heated) home office that is available 24/7. It's is quiet, comfortable and has equipment I work with every day. My fingers can fly across a keyboard that I'm very used to, and my screen pointer easily finds everything I need. I have no distractions and I work much faster than if I were in your environment, guaranteed. There's also no travel time, so I can be far more productive.
If you want training or setup, I prefer to take you out of your environment with its distractions (especially if it's your place of work) and teach you what you need to learn (ie you're not tied to a course). After, you'll be on your way with specific learn tasks until next time.
